Community Harvest Project plans open house, seeks volunteers

Community Harvest Project needs to grow one major crop before it can officially start the growing season: its supply of volunteers to work the fields.

The Grafton-based organization, which grows produce for area food pantries and soup kitchens, is hosting a Volunteer Open House on Saturday, April 17. Information sessions will be held every half hour from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grafton Location, 37 Wheeler Rd, North Grafton.

Here’s what one volunteer said about their experience: “My experience at CHP has made me realize how important community really is. Especially during these hard times, community makes everything brighter. This year was extra special with everyone coming together to make sure that food was still going out into the community.”

CHP will be following COVID-19 safety protocols and masks will be required during these sessions.

The 2021 farm season is now open for volunteer group scheduling. To learn more or sign a group up to volunteer, visit www.community-harvest.org/volunteer.
