‘Born Under a Bad Sign?’ Duran advances to ‘Voice’ Top 8
Ricky Duran broke out his electric guitar, a blues song with much personal sentiment and literal flames Monday night on “The Voice.”
His rendition of Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign” shot to the top of the iTunes Blues chart, hit #13 on the main chart and — much to the glee of fans back home in Grafton — placed him in “The Voice” Top 8 Tuesday.
“I want everybody at home to take the remote right now rewind that performance and try to find anything that’s not magical about it, from the singing to the guitar playing,” said his show mentor, Blake Shelton after Duran’s performance. “America, if this guy doesn’t belong in the finale, I will kiss your collective butts. This guy deserves to be in the finale.”
Will there be a collective butt-kissing? Duran returns to “The Voice” next week hoping to grab one of the Top Four spots, guaranteeing him a performance in the Dec. 17 finale.
