Christmas blaze hits retired Grafton police sergeant’s home, fundraiser created

A GoFundMe has been created for Gail Tebo and John Harrington, whose home was severely damaged in a Christmas night fire.

The couple were hosting Christmas dinner when an electrical fire broke out in the attic of their 86 Old Westboro Road home, according to Daniel Tebo, who posted the fundraiser. Everyone evacuated safely, including the family boxer, Titan.

Harrington retired as a Grafton Police sergeant in July 2015.

The home was extensively damaged and the couple’s belongings were destroyed by smoke and water. Reconstruction is expected to take 8-12 months.

As of 5 p.m., $3,260 of a goal of $10,000 has been raised. Visit the fundraiser here,
