Non-residents allowed at Silver Lake Beach starting Saturday
Non-residents will be able to buy day passes for Silver Lake Beach starting on July 24, the final change to the popular swimming spot’s COVID-19 necessitated precautions.
The Recreation Department announced that the non-resident passes will cost $18 /car, $7/person, or $5/seniors.
Day passes for residents have been available for residents-only, $12/car, $5/individuals and $3 for seniors. Proof of residency such as a license, vehicle registration or utility bill must be shown.
The beach operates daily, weather-permitting, through August 15 and is open Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Wednesdays 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Hours may be changed based on staff availability and programming.
Amenities available include a lifeguarded bathing beach, picnic tables, charcoal grills, restroom, outdoor shower/footwash, dock platform, concession stand, and kayak rentals.
Swim lessons, the deep water raft, birthday parties and pavilion rentals are not available this summer.
Outside of the hours of operation or when the beach is closed, swimming is not allowed and facilities will be closed. Parking is always prohibited along Rt. 140.
