Build the perfect scarecrow — maybe a wizard can provide a brain?

Maybe your perfect scarecrow is silly, holding a sign. Maybe it’s wearing a Halloween costume, a team jersey, or looks bent on mayhem.

Whatever your vision, you can build it Sunday on Grafton Common for Grafton Recreation’s annual Scarecrow Building Contest.

They provide the hay, stake, and twine. You provide some clothes, a head (perhaps a pumpkin or mask?), and a whole lot of creativity.

The stuffing begins at 11 a.m. and stops at 1 p.m. Scarecrows will be displayed around the common and posted on Grafton Recreation’s Facebook page for voting October 19-25. The winner will be announced October 27.
