Four finalists for interim town administrator go before Select Board Tuesday

Four finalists for interim town administrator will Zoom in Tuesday night for separate interviews with the Select Board.

The candidates include Kellie Hebert, former Topsfield town administrator; Thomas Guerino, former Bourne town administrator; Carter Terenzini, Templeton town administrator; and Nina Nazarian, former Littleton town administrator.

None of the candidates will be considered for the permanent town administrator job recently vacated by Tim McInerney, who separated from the town on July 31 after 11 years in the top spot.

The Select Board Monday night each chose their top favorites of resumes submitted for the job. Hebert was a unanimous choice for interviews, with the remaining candidates all tying with three votes each.

Highlights from each candidates’ experience:

Hebert — Served for six years at TA in Topsfield, stepping down when she was unable to reach a contract agreement in the town. Now serves as a part-time fiscal analyst in Methuen. Former assistant and interim town administrator in Belmont. Received her master of public administration from Northeastern University, her bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Emmanuel College.

Nazarian — Recently stepped down as administrator in Littleton after a separation with the town. She was previously town administrator in Princeton, and assistant town administrator in Tyngsboro. She has her master of public administration from Suffolk University and a degree in civil engineering from UMass Lowell.

Terenzini — Town administrator in Templeton since 2016, he notes on his LinkedIn “Not quite sure how a 4 month interim gig turned into this long a term.” He was an interim TA in New Durham, NH; seven years town administrator in Moultonborough, NH; and a town administrator in Spencer. He received his MBA from Heriot-Watt University and his bachelors degree from Charter Oak State College.

Guerino — Works as a consultant to Wareham after a 14-year career as town administrator in Bourne. He’s a graduate of the University of Southern Maine.
