Letter: Memorial walk honors former Graftonite Michael Cherry

I am writing on behalf of Oddball Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit mental health advocacy organization.

We are hosting our 2nd annual Memorial Walk event for suicide awareness on Saturday, October 15 in Grafton and I need your help.

I want to invite you to join me on October 15 to raise awareness yet again for Suicide prevention and education. The event is dedicated to Michael Cherry, who died by suicide in 2017. This year will mark the fifth anniversary of his passing. Our focus is to raise awareness and change how we talk about suicide, and to promote community-led resources that can be accessed when dealing with feelings and thoughts of suicide.

We are currently looking for organizations that would be willing to use provided tables to share their resources at the event. We would love for you to have a table to share any resources you have available to our attendees as we plan on encouraging them to support your organization. Click below for our Sponsorship Packet for the Memorial Walk that details more information about our event for your reference.

We are also looking for people to attend this year’s event, last year’s event was a huge success, but we can’t do it without you.  Please come to this year’s Walk and bring a friend! We are trying to make this event larger in scope than last year with different speakers, a bigger raffle and fun surprises.

Here is the page to sign up for this year’s walk.

Here is our Facebook Page to keep up with friends of Michael and share memories of Michael.
