Get into the picture as Rockwell’s ‘Runaway’ comes to State Police Museum
You know the painting.
A policeman sits at a lunch counter, conversing with a young boy. At the boy’s feet is a hobo bindle, indicating that the child has run away from home.
There’s no doubt in this famous scene by Norman Rockwell that the boy will find his way home. On Sunday during Grafton Celebrates the Holidays, you can ask him yourself.
The State Police Museum on Worcester Street is holding its second annual “Runaway Day,” featuring Ed Locke, the original “Runaway” in Rockwell’s painting.
The event will run from noon until 4 p.m.. Photographs at a “Runaway” mock up are encouraged.
